Our civil society survey results…
Join us for a webinar to hear findings from our survey for civil society on issues around sex and gender
In spring 2025 we carried out a survey for civil society to understand how LGBTQIA+ people and organisations in civil society are being affected by recent legal cases and regulatory changes on the definition of ‘sex’ and ‘gender’. This unique survey explored experiences across civil society, and we are hosting a launch webinar to explore the findings and what they mean.
Why join our webinar?
You will hear from our Chair Heather Paterson, our CEO Luca Straker, and me, our Head of Campaigns. We will explore the context and background for us running the survey. We will share more about the process itself, and discuss the findings. This is a chance to hear more about the experiences of individuals and organisations across civil society.
We will also explore our recommendations. While we cannot offer legal advice or direct support to organisations navigating this challenging environment, we will review and discuss our recommendations. This will include what we think needs to change, to better support LGBTQIA+ people and inclusion across civil society.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission has since shared its updated Code of Practice for services and associations. This webinar will primarily focus on findings and recommendations carried out in 2025. We are looking to organise further conversations over the coming year to support LGBTQIA+ people and organisations, but this webinar will not explore the updated code in detail.
